Working Group «Sustainable Supply Chain Management»

Themenfeld «öbu-Themenschwerpunkt: Nachhaltige Wertschöpfungsketten und Beschaffung»
The Working Group Sustainable Supply Chain Management is a knowledge-sharing plattform for Swiss companies founded in 2019 by the Swiss Business Council for Sustainable Development (öbu) and Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein (GCNS).

For many companies, the management of ecological and social aspects of their activities is becoming increasingly important, not only in their own production, but also along the corporate value chains at home and abroad. Social and regulatory developments abroad and in Switzerland - such as the Federal Council's National Action Plan for Business and Human Rights (NAP) - as well as an increasingly broad public of consumers and investors demand that Swiss companies comply with human rights and environmental standards along their entire value chain.

The Working Group Sustainable Supply Chain Management

During its first year, over 33 companies attended one of the four meetings convened by the Working Group, representing a wide range of industries such as Retail, ICT, Energy, Extractives, Building & Construction, Transport & Logistics, Insurance & Finance and Pharmaceuticals. Meetings are hosted by one of the participating companies and focus on a sustainable supply chain topic of interest to the group.

The Working Group’s content is aligned with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Business Conduct and the UN Guiding Principles. Participating companies use the Working Group as a platform to exchange, learn and to practice Responsible Business Conduct and strive to progressively embed these principles in their management systems.

Prioritisation of topics
